Advocacy

The OVMA is the only veterinary organization in Oregon that advocates for the profession statewide. Working with the government on legislative issues and representing veterinarians at the State Capitol is essential to the advancement of our profession.

With support from veterinarians across Oregon, the OVMA has saved more than 52 million dollars for the state’s 500-plus veterinary practices. In addition, your state association has positively impacted legislation on issues such as animal welfare, hazardous waste, animal emergency preparedness and funding support for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University.

IP 28 Overview
