Support the OAHF's Hurricane Relief Efforts for Veterinarians and Animals:
How You Can Help

In response to the tragic effects of Hurricane Katrina, the Oregon Animal Health Foundation, the charitable arm of the OVMA, has established a disaster relief fund to support animal care and rescue efforts and to help restore veterinary services in the impacted areas. Tax-deductible contributions made to the OAHF's disaster relief fund will be forwarded to veterinary-related organizations in Alabama, Louisiana or Mississippi.

Thank you to members of the veterinary practice and client communities for your generous donations. To date, the fund has received over $20,000 in donations. Over $10,000 has been disbursed to organizations in the region and another $10,000 will be disbursed shortly.

The OAHF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization; donations are tax-deductible as permitted by law. 100% of your donations will be distributed for disaster relief as indicated above. No portion of your donation will be used for administrative costs.

Donations from Clients

All contributions are needed and appreciated. Thank you to the numerous clients and pet lovers who have so generously contributed to the relief efforts so far. If you choose to collect donations from your clients and remit them to the OAHF, please submit the names and addresses of your clients along with the donations. We will send a thank you card to each client who makes a contribution.

We have created an information sheet (PDF - 468K) that you can post in your practice to educate your clients about this effort and how they can help, too.
